“Who will buy…?”“Boasting Europe’s longest street market, get a typical taste of the East End at Walthamstow Market, open five days a week (Tuesday- Saturday) you can purchase anything from “apples and pears” to pie, mash and liquor for lunch. You’re bound to find exactly what you are looking for at a bargain price. Sunday’s special is an exciting Farmer’s Market selling fresh produce. The market is just a short bus ride from the hotel.”Recommended by Jennie Mackenzie; Group Sales Eat football sleep football“Being based in London, we are short ride away from all the big London football clubs and grounds, including Wembley Stadium. But being “Tottenham till I die”… I would highly recommend a trip down the lane… White Hart Lane to the sacred Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. With two supporters’ shops just outside the ground, you can get kitted out in all the latest strip before taking the stadium tour, which is second to none.”Recommended by Cai Dolan; Guest Services Assistant Family Night’s Out“Only 20 minutes from Central London by underground (Victoria line), there are many great nights out to be had; the best family night out by my recommendation is a trip to the West End Theatre. With many different shows to choose from, my personal favourite is the Lion King. Although, I have seen is three times already, I’d still return for another show, I love it. It’s just as good as the movie and fabulous for all the family.”Recommended by Louise Eaton; Deputy General Manager All aboard for good food“Station Road in North Chingford has the best variety of restaurants in the local area. With a taste to suit everyone’s pallet, my personal favourite is the Italian restaurant Gennario’s Pizzeria, quiet and intimate it’s perfect for a romantic night out or a family pizza night.”Recommended by Tina Chocken; Guest Services Manager Clubber’s delight“If dancing the night away to the latest top tunes is more your thing, then definitely check out Pacha at Victoria: London. Open from 10pm –5am Friday and Saturday, it’s a little taste of Ibiza without the sand! On the return journey home, jump on the night bus (N26) all the way back to the hotel, just in time for breakfast!”Recommended by Amber Roberts; Guest Services Manager. Pomp and Circumstance“With all the history and tourist attractions that London has to offer you’ll have to book another stay at the hotel to squeeze everything in. Working and living in London it is often taken for granted what is on your doorstep. Two of the best things I have experienced, as a “tourist” to the city are firstly, the Changing of the Guard, at Buckingham Palace. Get off the Victoria Line (Tube) at Green Park Station; take a walk through the park to Buckingham Palace. The Ceremonial Changing of the Guard takes place at 11.30am, but get there early (approx 11am) to get a good view. It’s one of the best examples of British Military Traditions “pomp and circumstance”.The second best thing that I experienced as a tourist was a flight on the London Eye. It has amazing views of London and if you look very carefully to the East, you may even see the hotel! It’s the most pleasurable flight you’ll ever take, even those not so keen on heights should give it a go it’s quite enchanting. You can fly all day or catch an early evening flight and watch the city that never sleeps.” Recommended by Victoria Martin; Guest Services Manager The views and opinions expressed in the contents above are those of the individuals mentioned and do not necessarily reflect the views of Holiday Inn Express or assosciated organisations.
